Instructions:
Step 1: Select All in the spread sheet by clicking the top left corner tile or keys Ctrl+A. You must copy and paste the entire spread sheet for this to work. Step 2: Copy All Columns and Rows using keys Ctrl+C. Step 3: Paste into the Text Area above using keys Ctrl+V or Right Click inside the Text Area and Click Paste. After you paste, you may notice that the text inside the Text Area does not line up with the Column Head List above it. This is OK. The only requirement is that the number of columns and the column heading names are the same. Step 4: Click the Submit button. The program will inspect the data to be certain it matches the data base table. If it does not, errors will be reported on the next page. If the new data passes inspection, you will be asked to confirm the changes to the Data Base. - Deleting: If you have removed Items (rows) from the Excel file, the program will assume that you wish to delete them from the Price List. You will be asked if this is the case. Remember, do not attempt to change information in the text area above. If you have inadvertantly removed a row, go back and add it to the Excel file, Copy and Paste again. |

Spread Sheet Guidelines:
Certain rules apply to data that is entered into the spread sheet associated with this interface. To make sure processes work together, they must be followed. See Eco-$mart_Product_Prices_Guide.doc for details. Adding & Editing Cells in Rows 1. Item - All products are identified solely by this number in the Eco-$mart Data Base. Many products may have manufacturer’s item numbers or upc codes, but all Eco-$mart products are identified and cataloged using the Item Number (Item). It is very important not to duplicate Item numbers. Changing an Item number in the spread sheet that you copy and paste will create a new product. 2. The use of double quotes(") and single quotes(') in descriptions and titles is discouraged. If a double quote("), or a single quote(’) must be used, it must be escaped with a back slash in the text (eg, \"Green Home\") . 3. Content in numeric price fields must be formatted as money (0.00). This is the default for these columns in Eco-$mart_Product_Prices__.xls . 4. Update records are entered by the program, there is no need to enter or change a date in the Excel file. |
